The Environmental Services Director administers the housekeeping program to ensure a sanitary, attractive and orderly environment. The Environmental Services Director must select, train and motivate employees who will appreciate and respect the medical importance of even the smallest responsibility. Many colleges and universities offer specific degree programs in institutional housekeeping management; however, a business administration curriculum supplemented with appropriate science courses is also a good foundation for this area. Many Environmental Services Directors have risen to their position through the ranks of additional education.
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, but experience may be accepted in lieu of education.
