Facilities Manager

Job Description:

The Facilities Manager administers and directs programs to maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This professional relies on business management skills, the ability to work well with others, and an understanding of the technology associated with hospital plant operations. College level preparation for this career usually draws from diverse disciplines including math, business administration, physics, instrumentation, building construction, horticulture, drafting, electrical power, occupational safety and others.

Salary: $63,100 to $107,900

Education and Professional Requirements:

Most healthcare facilities require their Facilities Managers to have a bachelor’s degree in management or engineering to handle the responsibilities of this position.
