The Capstone College of Nursing is the division of The University of Alabama charged with the responsibility of preparing graduates for the professional practice of nursing. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses. Graduates also possess the knowledge and skills essential for life long learning within a rapidly changing health care system and are prepared for further study at the graduate level.
Students graduating in our Graduate programs can receive a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, a Doctorate of Nursing Practice, or Doctorate of Education in Nursing Education (EdD). A MSN/EdD option is also available. Students graduating in our graduate programs are eligible to sit for several certification programs.
The Capstone College of Nursing is committed to the provision of excellent nursing education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The College’s commitment is demonstrated by an undergraduate and graduate curriculum that is responsive to changes in the health care system.
