The Department of Human Nutrition and Hospitality Management′s mission is to provide strong undergraduate programs in the areas of food and nutrition and restaurant and hospitality management and a strong graduate program in the area of human nutrition. Further, the Department strives to contribute to the generation of new knowledge in the area of foods and nutrition and to apply this knowledge to improving the quality of life of individuals, families, and communities. The University of Alabama has been educating dietitians for over seventy five years. We offer two undergraduate programs that lead to the credential of the registered dietitian: Coordinated Program in Dietetics and Didactic Program in Dietetics.
